A lot of chatter on various boards about the current growth of VX and possible future destinations.

It seems, from what I have read, that all is going well and they are well on track with predictions.

Next places to be sporting the virgin logo on domestic routes will be:

SAN, SEA, ORD and MIA. Looks like they will all be online in the first quarter of 2008.

They have already started hiring staff in SAN apparently.

It loooks like that VX want to take full advantage of the incentives that MIA offer for the starting of new routes- so I wouldn't be surprised to see VX expand into the Caribbean sooner rather than later.

MCO of course has been touted by many as an obvious choice given VS dominance but seeing as MIA will be opened first I think it could well be at least another 12 months before VX open up in Orlando.

Thoughts?

Do VX have clearance from DOT to open up international routes???

SFO-SEA or LAX-SEA is at the top of my wishlist. I'm hoping either is underway for early next year to enable me to make my 1st trip on VX..:D

Well this is a good question. I am not sure. I am guessing they will get it, no reason why not.

The incentives that MIA are offering, if they are believed are unbelivable. For example $3,000,000 plus free landing fees for a year. Apparently SLC and CVG also operate similar systems. This incentive business is the reason why Transaero of Russia are starting Moscow-Miami next year.

Routes wise- SEA-SFO and SEA-LAX must be on the list surely. SEA-ORD would be interesting.

I can't see any routes out of MIA other than SFO, LAX, IAD, JFK or possibly LAS coming in the next few years. I might be wrong but I cannot see Caribbean services being that important to VX at present.

I can see them trying to button down the West coast as a first prioirty in their expansion.

SAN and SEA will be opened in the next few months to complement LAX, SFO and LAS - If these 5 bases were all linked together wih direct flights, VX would have a great platform to build services across the country....:D

Id agree but I think the incentives are considered so good that VX will go for it.
