What specifically do you want to know? If you want to know what fare class you are booking on the VS site it should show you when you select a flight. If you want to book a specific fare class that isnt being displayed (S for example) you'll need to call FC directly.

You may find our own piece on the subject matter more helpful as the fare codes are not explained to this degree on the VS site: http://www.v-flyer.com/codes.asp

Thanks,
Sarah

Thanks Sarah
Just got a beef with Virgin holidays at the moment. Booked to go to SF next year and have noticed that i'm booked in to lowest economy, which i think is "N" but when you check the codes on v-flyer, Virgin holidays should use "V" which gives me 100% of the miles flown. I'm in the process of calling them now!!

Thanks

I think you will find that VH usually use N now, our flights to NYC last year were booked into N before we upgraded them. Not too sure you will have any comeback from VH, you are buying a flight not a specific fare like you do with VS.

Actually Sarah the new improved booking engine on the VS site shows you the fare codes for all possible combinations :)

Just called VH and i'm booked in on a "V" so if i check the codes on v-flyer that tells me I should be geeting 100% of the miles flown, but if i check on the VS web site it tells me that i'm booked in on lowest economy, somethings wromg somewhere!

Thanks

It is just the wording on the VS site, it basically means you don't have a flexible ticket, I have a D fare booked direct with VS as it shows as 'Upper Class Lowest' in the manage my bookings section, but its not the lowest.

If VH have confirmed you are booked in a V and your ticket states this then you will be booked with a V class.

Ditto. I've not seen that before. Can only call up K (lowest) or W (full flex) for a PE fare.

Thanks,
Sarah

When I get the Matrix BELOW it is a list of all possible fare combinations. For example on my recent booking for NYC is listed 3 pages of fares starting at K/K then S/K then K/S then S/S etc...

Just got to the bottom of this.........

I am booked in on a "V" ticket, but because I can't upgrade using Virgin miles they alway display it as economy lowest, but I do qualify for 100% of the miles flown :D

Thanks for your help

Cheers

That does happen sometimes but only when say S is the lowest fare left on the specific flight, just tried a dummy booking for NYC and the all the departing flights on the VS4 only give S as the lowest where as all the other flights give K's. On something like SFO where there is only 1 flight you just get the one option.

Still wish VS would let you search by specific fare code rather than having to ring FC.

It offers AVAILABLE codes... I'm not really interested in unavailable ones. Am I missing something?

The point is, say I want an L code or an S code but there are still N & K's available then the website only allows you to select the lowest (or flexible Y & W then), so I only get a price for the N & K. I have to call FC to get a price for my L or S. I have yet to book a flight through the VS site, always do it with FC.

ahhh - it always offers me the fares I'm interested in so as I asked for lowest PE it offered me K and S.
