I might be able to shed some more light on that over the next couple of weeks...

Firstly I'm off for a tour of the Suites on the 13th, so will have my junior reporters' sprial bound notebook with me and will be asking questions,

Secondly, Virgin have kindly invited me and Richard M along to the launch party for the Suites on the 19th. Between the two of us I'm sure we'll get some nuggets of info.

Seriously though, if you have any specific questions you'd like me to ask on your behalf - or if you want me to look at a specific feature of the new Suites while I have a chance to crawl over them, please post those here.

Did you guys engineer this at the VH party or is the pen really mightier than the sword? :D

I proper timetable for implementation and route roll out would be nice! Or even just an idea of which routes are going to be coming on stream when. I have yet another 200,000 points burning a hole in my FC account that need using up!

That would be telling :)

Seriously, I think companies have started to realise the power the Internet. For those from FlyerTalk, look at Starwood with Starwood Lurker.

Don't want to blow my own trumpet, but I've been trying to help people for nearly 4 years now in regards to VS, and along the way learnt a lot about the airline I choose to fly regularly.

Pix has done a fabulous job with this website in bringing his and others knowledge together in one place.

The VH party was a little different - not putting the program down at all, but Frequent Virgin CLub status is not that difficult to achieve - 3 trips in an unlimited span of time, where as frequent flying is based on activity within a span of time. I don't think there were that many Gold Flying Club members there to be honest, or maybe even Silvers for that matter. But then these were loyal customers that have used Virgin Holidays over the years (I remember reading an article a short while ago that said the average British family takes less than 2 longhaul holidays per year), and they were plenty of loyal people there.

Thanks,
Richard

Richard,

Thanks for the post, I thought I might have been a bit too cryptic for people who don't know about the good work you and Pete do (I would also say thanks to NNick, BC & TBS here) There is a real wealth of useful information on tap between you.

I agree completely with your comments re Starwood Forum on FT and Starwood Lurker, it seems to be a really effective way of communication between the company and its frequent guests. I often wonder if Lurker does this as an extra curricular activity or as part of his job description, either way he or she does a good job.

Having achieved three VH holidays, I have applied to VH to be a FV although as a FF you already get the main benefit of the 10% discount. We have three long haul VS flights planned for next year, LAS, MIA and LAX although these will be in coach or PE we hope to upgrade with miles to UC for the LAX trip in Sep. I will look forward to that one :) and hopefully it will stop BC from reporting me to the CSD :D.

Keep up the good work guys and lets make a great airline even greater.

StarwoodLurker - aka William: That is his official job - if you do a search on FLyerTalk there is (somewhere) Williams story. He won a major award at this years Freddies: http://www.freddieawards.com/events/res ... pact_Award
