Flight Cancellation / Reward Ticket

Just wondering, after reading a few threads in the last few days about cancelled flights, upgrades and reward tickets etc - if you are on a reward ticket (in any class), would you be treated any different to a paid ticket in the same class?

ie if you were on a reward G and your flight was delayed or cancelled, would you be treated any different to a person who had paid for a Z, D or J ? (in regard to compensation etc)

(I know that when we had a cancelled flight on a Z, we were treated/compensated very well)
