Hi Guys

Do any of you/would you take trips specifically for tier points if you were in danger of losing your Au/Ag?

If so, what are the good routes to do?

Next year i have trips booked but they are either side of my renewal month for FC. If i dont take another trip i will go back to Red, and i dont really fancy that as getting back to Silver will take more TPs

So ... where do i go? i originally thought West Coast, perhaps Washington for a few nights, but i was just curious as to whether anyone else here has run into this dilemma before? And if so, where you go, or where you would go. Im looking at PE or even Y for this trip.

Although, some of you Goldies are earning enough miles arent you so i guess you dont need to wory about this ... hehe

Can I suggest, if you haven't already done so, that you purchase one of Pixuk's excellent membership kits.

Apart from the kit, this gives you entry to the Clubhouse forum - where there may be a discussion thread you will find interesting;)

mccuth and jonathan are way ahead of you:)

In all seriousness, if you are looking at a tier point trip to maintain silver - I have done it for the past two years, with a quick winter weekend to BOS or New York.

You have to be careful with the cheap winter fares that they are mileage earning fares. If you get points for the trip, you will also get tier points.

Has the thread on KUL-SIN trips been moved to the Clubhouse? I can't find it any more, and the search doesn't help. If it has, why?

I was hoping to wait for 250 posts before getting a kit, to get a gold one. But it seems as if it's possible to get a gold kit before hitting 250!:) Anyone care to enlighten me how?

the KUL-SIN route is the best one to earn tier points on but if everyone is reaching gold on this route they may withdraw tier points on it, so we should all keep quiet about it :D

hope they don't though!![:(]

All depends on how many points you need to maintain - as I've said before a £150 cheap business return on BMi nets you 2 points.

If you are struggling for Silver, then you aren't flying that much on revenue tickets!

One thing to watch out for on Nick's comment, is to make sure that the fare you buy is elligble - as if it doesn't earn miles, it doesn't earn Tier Points. Read the Tier Point Guide v2.0 I put together for more information.

Thanks,
Richard
