Hi Guys

I remember that for the last few years Virgin have sold reduced fares to the US from around Dec/Jan to April or so. These were PE fares BTW and were featured in the special offers section of the VA wesite (not sure if its a members only thing) and you got miles and TPS included. I remember that nearly all routes were there (NYC, BOS, WAS, LAX, LAS, SFO, etc)

Does anyone know if they tend to do this each year?

With all this talk of trips to BOS of late, im actually dying to go for a short weekend but thought that if i could get a trip over when i can get a cheaper ticket then it would be ideal.

(Please someone tell me they do this every year to help shift lagging sales at the beginning of the year ... ?)

Thanks :)

Virgin have a reputation for under cutting any promotion that BA or any of their other rivals come up with.

It is difficult to talk about what has happened in previous years, as post Sept. 11th the industry has changed big time.

The 'off peak' travel period of Oct-March (exc Christmas) has always been the best time for those of us who enjoy a short break in BOS. (Except that it is B.Cold in winter)

There are some good fares to be had now if you look on the VS website. The big problem with waiting for the 'special offer' and promotional fares that are splashed all over the newspapers, is that very often the small print means that there are no FC points / tier points awarded.

I am sure that as soon as there is any news of a 'fare sale' then details will be posted here (or at least in the Clubhouse, first!!) ;)
