A friend of mine who has booked two Fly Drive tix LGW-MCO with Virgin Holidays (Sorry VTS, she looked on the Travelstore web site, but could not find Fly-Drive, only separates) has just had a £190 reduction in the invoice as she is a FC member!
Very happy bunny :D:D

And bonus FC miles too if booked via VTS.

I wonder what the discount was? and what %

Booking direct with VH if you have a FVC card gives a 10% discount on the total cost of the holiday. Other discounts for non-FVC card holders are usually on the base price and not the total package (including flight upgrades, insurance and other extras).

I think from what she was saying it was about 10%

She did look on VTS, but could not find Fly-Drive pricing, she can use a computer, but she is of the ability of most people, if it is not clear she cannot find it, where VH has a fly-drive link on the front page.

Yep. On my last trip to MCO I booked only hotel and WDW tickets through VH and got 10% discount off both due to my FC membership. VS flights and car hire I booked separately.

When we booked our hol through VH we got £100 of the total price then followed by a further 20% discount, an absolute bargain i think.

Yes you do need to ask for it - I've just had 10% discount taken off the total cost of my VH booking. :D

Give then a ring - as long as you have not yet paid the ballance I cannot see it been a problem :)

It's not exactly in-your-face but their "Intro" page to the Frequent Virgin Club says:

quote:The Flying Club is the Virgin Atlantic loyalty programme, where members collect air mile points when they fly with Virgin Atlantic. Flying Club members are entitled to a 10% discount off direct bookings with Virgin Holidays on full brochure packages including pre-booked car insurance, attraction tickets & flight upgrades! Excludes travel insurance & wedding packages.

If you are already a member please enter your membership number in the box provided. The Club will automatically be notified and will start to process your discount - you don't need to do anything else! (Please note we ideally need a minimum of one calendar months notice, prior to your UK departure date, to process your discount against your booking)

As you say Highflyer, you will know next time ;). Pity you can't get 10% for being a FV plus 10% for being in the FC too but we mustn't be greedy :)

If you book online with VH a box is provided for the FVC number when the invoice comes through the correct discount of 10% should be displayed.

Yeah, i will check that out as we would have put our FC numbers in if available as we are flying VA. I also emailed VH with the numbers to confirm that they were added to the booking.

I'll have a look, its possible we did get the 10% although i didnt recall seeing it. You know how it is, you only tend to focus on the large number on the bottom.

This is my second VH, so if we do another (which is highly likely) we can become frequent virgins anyway, so the 10% is in the bag one way or another. And yes ... 20% off would be nice for both FC and FV :D

Every time I make an online booking with VH - I fill in the 'how was our online booking system and what else would you like to see here' questionaire at the end of the booking and I always say the same thing - a box for entering your FC number please!!!!

Perhaps if we all do the same James we may get them to change the system, it does make good sense to provide a box for your FC number.
