newbie with some questions

Hi

we have booked our first flight with VH, for next June to MCO, from Manchester(economy). I have a couple of questions.

Is it worth me joing the flying club? Does my DH have to join aswell or can i have all the points for myself, DH and my son.

Have booked through a travel agent, and they have said they can book my seats for me, ive looked on the seat plans etc but as its another 11 months away and with all the plane upgrades etc im unsure what seats to book. I can't get access to the manage your flights section, as i haven't booked direct with virgin.
any ideas which seats would be good to request, there will be me, Dh, DS (3) and DD (1) who we haven't booked a seperate seat for, but she will be too big for a skycot.

by next June what planes are likely to be used for the MAN to MCO route.

It is well worth you joining FC, and your DH will have to join under a separate account. Even if you do not travel a great deal with Virgin, there are still plenty of other ways to earn flying club miles.

With regards to your seating request, I guess for now you could take a look at the seating comments posted on this site for the current 742 which is used on the MAN MCO route, and then you can call Virgin directly to do your seat allocation for you if you are having difficulties doing it on-line.

In order to allocate your seat on line you need your locator number which your travel agent should be able to give you.

I guess with the aircraft type, unless somebody here has a definite answer, you will have to wait and see!!

Hi Suzanne and Welcome

The only thing I will add to what Matt has said is that from 1st May 2005 a full Upper Class service will be offered on the MAN-MCO route so I would think the current 747-200 aircraft on this route will be going. Reading other comments on here I dont think they will be missed either!!

Some of the VS staff on here are likey to have a better idea of which aircraft will be on this route - possibly a LGW 747-400 aircraft [?] If this is the case these aircraft should have the new Kash economy seat with V:Port by then making the MAN-MCO route much more tempting to us Northerners
