I am just trying to get my head around the movement of a LGW 747 up to MAN for the extra flights.

Surely LGW does not have a "Spare" plane sitting around to use on the MAN flight? Or is it that at weekends, when the VS73 runs, there IS spare capacity at LGW?
if so, if the flight is delayed on a Sunday, could this have operational problems at LGW on the Monday??

Or will VS have to bring either a plane in from the cold (or rather, the warm" or use a LHR aircraft??
If a LHR aircraft, the cycle of questions starts again :D[}:)]

Hi AlanA

There is an 'extra' LGW-MCO-LGW service (VS49/50) which generally operates at weekends during peak periods. At the moment it operates on Fri/Sat/Sun until Sept/Oct so technically yes there is a spare a/c at LGW on those dates. I presume that bookings for the Autumn were a lot better ex-MAN than ex-LGW hence the extra flights.

I hope that answers your question :)

Cheers

Ah! thanks Alan, yes it does :D
So, if there are five LGW 747's that will leave four at LGW at the weekends?
If so, my chances of getting UCS in January LGW-MCO-LGW might have increased :D:D:D:D:D

Hi AlanA

The extra MCO flights from MAN/LGW finish in Nov so that won't affect your flight. However, at least 3 of the LGW based a/c will have been done by the time you fly out so it looks like you are booked on one of these. I had a quick look in the Res system and it is indeed showing a UCS a/c (14/52/373 config). :D

Cheers
Alan
