Hello, all:

I've lurked on this site for a while now, and I must say it's one of nicest forums. Hopefully you can clear something up for me...

I've secured an UC ticket from LAX to LHR next winter. I know VS uses the AC Maple Leaf Lounge at LAX, and that we do not receive use of the Revivals Lounge at LHR. However, when we depart London for LA, can we use the Clubhouse?

Many thanks.

Hi Worldflyer, welcome to v-flyer :)

I'm sure someone else willl correct me if I'm wrong, but I think it goes like this:

LAX-LHR

Yes you should get use of the AC maple leaf lounge

VS8 arrives early enough at LHR to utilise the revivals lounge on an Upper Class ticket

VS24 arrives after revivals lounge has shut (closes at 1:30), so the facility is not available for this flight.

LHR-LAX

Yes, if flying upper class (either VS7 or VS23) you'll get to use the clubhouse - an invite will be handed to you at check-in, with directions on it.

It's a wonderful place, and I highly recomend the bacon rolls!

Rich.

Thanks, Rich, for both the reply and the welcome.

I was hoping that was what the response would be; however, someone else had told me that even on the return, CO provided different arrangements at LHR and that we would NOT have access to the Clubhouse on our outbound. I guess I'll just keep fingers crossed that we're issued the passes upon check-in... Anyone else have experience on this?

Doesn't CO have its own version of Revivals at LHR?

Hi!

Don't see any reason why you cannot use the clubhouse lounge - we did the same as you last year, although I was somewhat disappointed with the Maple Leaf lounge - it is quite small and the service wasn't fantastic - I just think they were over run, sharing with AirCanada as well. Yup, it's nice to get away from everyone in the main airport, but after the luxury of Virgin, I was a bit disappointed (ungrateful so and so, I know!!).

Welcome to the forum WorldFlyer. Pull up a seat and make yourself comfy.

Here's the deal.

If you are using your CO miles to get a CO coded ticket (ie, the flight number you on starts CO regardless of the fact you may be on VS metal), then you're treated as a Continental passenger, so you get to use the Continental facilities. At LHR on your arrival they have an arrangement with Air Canada's Arrivals lounge, I believe.

If you are using your CO miles to get a VS coded ticket (ie, starting VS), then you are treated as a Virgin Atlantic passenger, and you can use all of the facilities exteneded to VS Upper Class passengers such as the Clubhouse, Revivals, etc. The only thing you don't get on the reward flights is the limo, although you can bung in a few miles (10k VS miles - dunno what that is in CO miles), to include that each way too.
