I have only 28 tierpoints, need 2 by end of oct to retain i am doing a Kul-sin-pen which is first and business class so will get 8 tier points, will the 6 left after my renewal at end of oct zero down or go towards next years account? If that is the case there is no point paying for the first from KUL-Sin

please help[8D]

Richard's tier point guide will give you the definitive answer, but I'm 99.9% certain that the points will zero at your anniversary date. The logic behing this is that, as points only live for a year, they will have died by the time your next renewal comes round.

I don't think there's much difference in price between EC and first on the KUL-SIN route, so you might think it's worth going first anyway.

I required 5 tier point in May to renew my Gold status and made 2 SQ Raffles flights for a total of 8 point in May. My Gold renewed and from 1 June forward the website showed that I had already earned 8 tier points. A little strange, but it has something to do with the 13 month period that tier points are counted in I suppose. Anyway, in my experience the points earned not only got me the Gold renewal, but also got a jump start on my requalification for next year.

Helen is correct, all the tier points will zero down upon Gold renewal. You then have your 13 month period to earn another 30 TP's.

Sorry for the delay in resposne, just back from a 2 week trip and catching up with hundreds of posts!

Thanks,
Richard
