In the last 12 month we have had humorous, efficient, abrupt, rude, and very rude but none as bad as the officers at JFK 15years ago :D

At LHR when boarding a flight last year I was asked to disclose to US Immigration Officials personal details including date of birth, address, where I was flying to (duh im getting on a plane to JFK) and where I would be staying. This was even before getting on the flight to JFK in the first place!

I thought the immigration forms you hand over at your destination did this job?

When I asked politely why, he said "just fill in your details or you won't get on the plane". I did notify a member of VS ground crew about his abrupt and rude nature, she apologised on his behalf. Its about time the US Officials were told to chill out!

Glad to hear!

Ive had some really horrid ones, not particularly nasty or anything, just so abrupt that it makes you really not look forward to the whole immigration process.

Ive tried smiling, being nice, being funny, and being abrupt back, and no matter what they are always the same stuffy shirt type! LOL

When I flew in to LGW from Ibiza earlier I went though the non EU line as I was with an american friend..

The imigration official was hilarous..She had a bad throat, sounded husky but said people like her new sexy voice!

I said she should get a lemsip but she said she prefered whisky.

I thought a funny/friendly imigration officer is much better Ambassador to the UK than being cold and unfriendly
