Hello all, wonder if you could help me please.

Have booked an upgrade flight in G class with some miles for a holiday next year, going LHR-JFK. A few days later, off to EWR (as JFK non-revenue flights were full) to LAS and then on our return LAS-EWR-LHR.

As I understand, all trans-atlantic flights are with VA and I am entitled to use of lounge both in LHR and EWR, and earn PE miles/tier points, but my main question is while waiting for the CO connections for the internal flights from EWR to LAS and LAS back to EWR, can I have use of the CO or VA lounge beforehand - these flights are in EC (U) class, and do I earn any miles for these as well?

The (extremely helpful) silver club assistant (Julian) seemed to think so, but wasn't too sure - does anyone here know please - before a 5 hour flight across the US, I feel the need for a bit of tranquility (and all the drink that aids that tranquility!).

Thanks.

PS. I know this is a different thread, but we are going to stay in the Plaza in NY and Bellagio in LasVegas - I know that latter is fantastic (lake view room and all!!), but can anyone briefly say how good the Plaza is? Thanks again.

The plaza is the new york hotel or it always traditionally has been. Visited in 2000 and it was lovely- saw in August of this year that is undergoing a huge upgrade currently- i would imagine there website has more information about it- but trust me the hotel will be lovely! It is owned by the Fairmont group of hotels. Its not modern like say the Millennium in Times Sq or a W/Westin Hotel its more traditional and no its not like the Bellagio either (goregous but to an extent 'american disney/fake' goregous if u get my drift!)

Hi Ianflies,

You'll be able to use the VS Clubhouse if you're on a VS-coded ticket and travelling in Upper Class that day. As your flight from EWR to LAS is in Economy a few days after your arrival into NYC, I doubt you'll be able to get into any lounge.

U class sounds like a reward flight, so that wouldn't give you any miles.

Thanks willd - Plaza sounds fantastic; just our 'thing' - and yup, seems quite a contrast to the Bellagio, but I guess both the locations are a contrast too!

Thanks also pixuk - I understand what you say - only if I am travelling UC on the same day am I entitled to the lounge - oh well, but I guess from what you say, from LAS to EWR I can then use the lounge in LAS - at least that's something!!

Thanks again guys.
