VX have been very helpful in my present circumstances.

I telephoned them on November 19 informing them of Pam's condition and advising them that we needed to cancel our First Class LAX-SFO tickets booked for 02 Jan. They gave me a fax number and asked me to write and also send a copy of my letter from the Hospital. I faxed this to them also on the 19.

I have not heard from them since and was about to chase them when whilst online checking my Amex account I see a full refund for both tickets was credited to my account on 20 Nov. Now I think that is pretty darn good customer service. It is a pity they didn't communicate with me but what the heck.

In contrast VAA say it will take about six weeks to process, and they lost the first fax I sent to them!

That IS good customer service.

With regard to VS, be prepared to wait longer than 6 weeks. I cancelled a refundable fare on October 6th and have had to follow it up constantly over the past two weeks. I was told 2 weeks ago that my request was being marked 'Urgent' but in spite of that I was informed only this morning that it is being debited to my credit card today.

Great news Barry on the refund. The last thing you need now is hassle re ticket refunds.

Thinking about you both, love and hugs to Pam.
