I'm not going to make the required 6 tier points necessary for me to retain my Au status by the 31st Dec 07, so I wanted to ask a simple question. What status/tier point count will I have at Jan 1st 2008, the day after my gold status expires?

Thanks.

Aer John's gold expired last month but because he had enough tier points he went down to silver

Likewise - I went to Ag briefly last year having earned a mere 24 TPs. Not sure what would happen if you earnt only 9.

Based on a rolling year I guess it would be possible to dip to Ag and then back up to Au a month later through one additional flight.

When my Au status expired I had 0 TPs but still got a year of Ag will be down to red anytime now.

Justed checked and I dropped to red 5th December.

So in the last year, having got my Au status, I've then accumulated some 22 points (hence the 8 short at Dec 31st), does this mean I start Jan 1 with 22 points, or 0 or what? I will of course be asking FC this, however I'd like to try and get the true picture clear now...

Cheers.

If you don't requalify for Gold, you get a soft landing to Silver for the next year.

You become Silver, according to the T&Cs:

If you are unable to renew your Gold membership, you will automatically become a Flying Club Silver member, and will subsequently be sent a Silver membership pack. The rules of Silver membership as detailed in clause 2.14 will then apply. Please refer to section 3.2.3

Thanks for that (and note to self; if all else fails RTFM...[:I]), and I have to then achieve 40 points (including any in the last rolling 12 months - 22 in my case - some of which will expire sooner than others) to get back to Au?

Yup. Points will drop off as per normal, so you will probably regain Au quite quickly if you have flights lined up next year.

Thanks,
