G reward question

I am thinking of using miles to upgrade from my PE S fare to a G class reward. Assuming availability, is it possible to upgrade at any time, e.g. even on the day of departure? If there is no availability showing for my chosen dates now, how likely is it that a seat will become available closer to the time (LHR-MIA route, end April).

Also, can I use both the CH and Revivals lounge on this fare type?

Now there's a million dollar question. It depends on two things. If someone who has a G cancels then you may be able to nab their space. More likely is that additional G availability will open up closer to the flight. The revenue department would do this if the flight is not that booked out. If you have status (preferably gold) try ringing up premier team about a week before and ask them to check if revenue will release availability. In the mean time it maybe worth having a check on the flights loading on expert flyer.

Yes, but not on board, has to be done at checkin or in the clubhouse. I found this out to my cost the other day.
