Upgrading with Miles (PE to UC)

Can I upgrade using miles after I purchase the original flight or does it have to be at the same time as the original purchase?

Providing you have an upgradable ticket, you can upgrade at ANY point, right up until departure [y]

As preiffer said, you can upgrade your ticket providing it is an upgradeable fare. You can find your fare class either on your receipt or confirmation email, simply look up the fare code on the guide linked above and see if it's permitted.

There also need to be upgrade seats available on the flight, best ring the Flying Club

Technically not on the day of departure upgrades. As long as there's a seat available (and you have an upgradable ticket class), you can have it for the miles regardless of bucket availability.
