What Has Happened To VS28?

I am travelling back to the UK in Sept 2008 and was travelling on VS28.
I checked on the Virgin site yesterday and am now on the VS16.

What happened to VS28?
I much prefered the time of VS28 against VS16

Have you called Virgin to ask? They *should* contact you for something like this but just give them a call and they will let you know the full situation.

Possible changes to the MCO route ahead? VS website shows the VS28 schedule valid to Sept 6th 2008 only....

Could this tie in with the end of the school holidays though?

Quite often on certain days in September VS reduce the number of flights from 2 to 1 to MCO. It happened to me a couple of years ago when I rang up and asked why I was told it was a combination of low volume and an opportunity for essential maintenance.

Looking at the schedule there seems to be just VS15/16 from 7th Sept through to 5th October - with two flights resuming on the 6th. There is also NO flight at all on Saturday 4th October - which does seem a little strange.

On that particular query I looked very quickly at all days by querying the flights on the VS grid and then moving down through the dates. However it is sort of confirmed by the monthly schedules - although these leave you to ponder as it doesn't specifically tell you what is happening in the dates in the middle.

At the end of the summer period the flight loads are combined to allow for engineering on the airacrft after the summer period and give better rotation to LGW fleet. Previous stats seem to show that the loads become lighter and dont require 2 a/c

Could this be the period when VS get the LGW fleet in for the PE upgrades?? Seems sensible to me as it gives room for LGW fleet rotation.

I was suprised to get a call from Virgin last week informing me that my LHR-LAX-LHR flights in June and August had been put back by 5 mins on one and 15 mins on the other.

My mum and dad are travelling the same route but on slightly different dates to mine and they have not yet had a call.

I am sure my 'contact preferance' is email and was suprised to get the call, so far out.
