Tried a search but could not work out if this has already been mentioned but as of 1 March, Delta will no longer be a partner of Flying Club. Also, 29 August will be the last date for any retrospective milage claims.

More details on the VS website

The Delta / Northwest merger rumours have been rife over the past few days, again. I don't know if the two are connected. [;)]

There was quite a discussion in the Wall St. Journal this week about likely DL/NW combination. Nothing about the FF affiliations, however.

Well, it will be goodbye to Virgin, I'm afraid. We have two flights booked u/c, one only booked last week for December/January MAN to MCO which we would have booked with Delta if we had known.

Help!!

Have I read this the wrong way round? (See my above post). We fly Virgin to collect Delta miles - does it read that I will still get Delta Miles on Virgin flights? Sorry to be thick about this!

Whilst it doesn't explicitly say so, I would think it would work both ways - ie no more earning of VS miles on Delta metal, and no more earning Delta miles on VS metal.

McCoy has it right.

If you scroll down a bit on here it confirms that that you won't be able to collect SkyMiles on Virgin.

Great, DL gets a good J product and lower fares and they stop being part of the FC, shame as they were turning into a good miles earning airline for me.

I think the DL / NW merger is now pretty much confirmed. All NW metal is to be rebranded as Delta.

A re-alignment of FF partnerships must be part of the deal.

Shame, as DL were a handy partner.

Should open up some more reward availability for VS then, as there was a large nubmer of DL redemtptions on VS (in J particularly)

Well yet another reason to ditch Flying Club and join KrisFlyer.
