2 Pax on 1 PNR - can we check in separately?

Made a single booking for myself and a colleague from LHR to SYD return UC. Although it was a single booking, as we both have copies of the e-ticket/itinerary etc, and the seats are already allocated (subject to change of course as always), can we check in at separate times and meet in the CH???

Oh that's EXCELLENT news! I always seem to be hanging around at check-in waiting for my colleague, so problem solved! When did this change, was the introduction of e-tickets?
