I recently tried to book a flight in PE using miles for an economy ticket and then a credit card spend voucher to upgrade from Econ to PE. I was told that I was unable to do this as there was no T class availablity in economy although there was U availabilty in PE but there had to be availablity in both classes. I therefore had to spend U miles rather than T miles to get my ticket. Upon reflection this seemed daft, I didn't need T class availablity, so I looked at the T and Cs and can find nothing that says there has to be availability in both classes. Before I tackle VA does anyone have any experience of this?
