Simple questions is the Limo drive-through check-in implemented at LHR and if yes ( I assume it is), how does it work?
Thanks.
Thanks.
1) Does the 'limo check-in' get me straight to the pvt security check and walk-way on the first floor? Is this the 'other end' of the corridor I've seen when walking through from the lift exit on the first floor after checking in UCS in the main check-in area downstairs?
2) Do people tip the limo driver?

When you step out of the 'Limo' you are met by VS staff who go through the usual 'did you pack your bags?' 'has or could anyone have interefered with your bag?', whilst this is going on you can sit and relax on the comfy seats.
Your cases are then taken away and your boarding cards given to you and you are pointed down a corridor towards the Pvt Security checks, along the way you will be asked for your boarding cards/passports, so don't put them away yet!
Just around the corner from the checkpoint are the screening machines (literally less than 200 yards from where you left the limo!)never seen another UC pax here, once completed you are then straight into the Departures area.
Why not try Iris recognition if you have the time, coming back into the Country is so much quicker using the Iris system.
We normally tip the drivers £20, the choice is yours, if, like the last trip we had the driver is a miserable old buzzard, he was only given a tenner and that was because he got us round an accident on the M25 with no hold up.
Hope that helps and that you enjoy the trip (don't rush through to the Lounge, take your time and savour everything around you)

I agree - except I tend to tip £10 when picked up from my house in Victoria Park which is onlyaround 1 hour from LHR and £20 when he has to come from our place in Mersea (and depends on the tides so sometimes more if he has done his homework !) - if the driver is miserable then like you I half it !!
Rgds,

He was polite, friendly, knowlegable, loved Goa (that helps a lot!!)and gave us the smoothest drive we have ever had.[^][y][:D][^][y][:D]
