Hi all, quick question - when travelling in Y...I know they give out headphones for use with the IFE but will the system allow use of your own (single jack) headphones (like the nice noice reducing ones I have [y])?

I'm on a 744 with V-Port.

Thanks

Anything with a 3.5mm jack is fine. [:)]

Cheers - just that on other airlines I've used you could only use a double pronged set of headphones!! So using a single jack set meant you lost half the sound...

If VS start charging for headphones I'd imagine they'd change to a more non standard socket, but you'll be fine with yours. [:D]

Upper class have the extra 2.5mm plug for the noise cancelling headphones that have it, but it's not necessary to use it.

The Virgin UC headphone socket has the second plug to supply power to the noise cancelling headsets - if you have the Bose or other, with their own, using the 3.5mm plug on its own works fine.

Some other airlines - I seem to recall Emirates being one - use the two plugs to carry sound.
