Mileage upgrade question

Hi all,

My parents have booked a Q class retunr ticket in the summer from HKG to LHR.

Now my Dad has some back problems and my Mom's been 'asking' me a few times if ti's possible to use my miles to upgrade my Dad. Sh'ed willingly sit at the back!

I know that Q class is not upgradable using miles, but I'm wondering if it's possible to add money to the ticket to take it up to Y/B/L, and then add miles on top of that to upgrade? (Obviously subject to reward class availability).

Didn't want to appear a 'chancer' when calling up VS, so I thought I'd ask here first.
