Last year I flew to Vegas in economy (morning flight) and found check-in at LGW a nightmare! We had checked in online but it still took us 1hr 30mins to get threw bag drop. Utter chaos couldn't see where the queues ended just a mass of confused (and angry) people.

Anyway, I was wondering if the Miami flight VS005 out of LHR would include the same drama? I'll be checking in online first.

I've booked the Servisair lounge before our flight which is why I would like to know how busy T3 gets at the start of Sept (i'm flying on the 6th)

Thanks in advance for any info

As you're flying in September the schools will have gone back so it shouldn't be as mad as it would be in the holidays.
Check-in opens at 6am so i'd aim to be there for then or just before as thats only just over 3 hours before the flight anyway.

Given that iti is an early morning flight I would say you should be OK and that the lines sshould not be so long. Remember that in LGW all the flights are morning departures whereas at that time in the morning there is only the MIA and JFK flight leaving that early. The next departure is SFO at 11. Granted there will be people checking in early for other flights but you probably won't experience the chaos that was LGW

Saturday mornings can be quite busy at T3, but as your flight is quite early, I'd aim to get there around 7am, after checking in online. You should find you are through in a reasonable amount of time.

Even with the very long lines I experienced in Nov 06, it took around 30 minutes to get through.

Yesterday a friend was on the Boston flight and was through in only 10 mins.

If you are a Gold member or travelling UC, the dedicated security line usually has no queue.

I took the 9.30 JFK flight earlier this year, which leaves at about the same time as the MIA flight. We checked in at 6.45am (having already done OLCI), and there were no queues at all - we walked straight up to the desk! The JFK flight was full that day - I don't know how busy the MIA flight was, but it was departing from the gate next to us and the gate area looked pretty busy.

Security queues were a bit worse - it took us around 20-30 mins to get through, although as usual we seemed to pick the slowest line!
