Flying Virgin America, can use VS lounge?

Hello-

I noticed that Virgin America is promoting the use of certain Virgin Atlantic US airport lounges for a fee of $40. (for First Class and 'Elevate' members, their frequent flyer program.)

Question: I'm already a Virgin Atlantic Gold member, and am flying out of SFO on a Virgin America flight tomorrow, in First Class. Do I still have to pay the $40, since I'm a VS Gold?

Yes, you still have to pay.

VS gold currently counts for absolutely nothing on VX.

VS Gold will hold no truck on the Virgin America flight, but you will be able to buy your way into the Clubhouse for $40 assuming you've signed up for EleVAte (free signup).

Bear in mind the Clubhouse doesn't open until about 10am, and even then it's snacks only till about 1pm.
