I'm on VS601 tomorrow evening to Joburg. Tonight the LHR departures is saying its cancelled. VS website saying departure 9am tomorrow. Will this have a knock on effect for VS601 tomorrow??

Will be using the CH - will this be open overnight should the worst happen?? [?]

Shouldn't have a knock on effect for your flight. It will only affect the flight this a/c would have operated when it lands back on saturday. Plus the a/c sits on the ground all day in JNB until the evening departure so it prob wont be too seriously delayed coming home.

Thanks Virginboy747! Puts me at ease a bit!!!

So presumably this a/c wont be flying VS601 when it lands back at LHR?

Without knowing accurately, there have been delays on many flights arising from storms in the east coast of America. My guess is that whatever aircraft was assigned to VS601 arrived too late to beat the LHR curfew and couldn't get an exemption

If you look at this website you will see that VS602 from JNB then becomes VS19 to SFO and VS46 from JFK becomes VS601 as a general rule.
