IAD Checkin opening times?

Has anyone the times that checkin opens at Dulles? I'm on the 23:31 flight and don't want to be sat around like I normally do at Shanghai! However, don't want to get there late enough that someone nabs all of the bulkhead seats at the front of PE!

According to the VS website, check-in and ticketing open three hours before departure - but that will be three hours before the early flight, which is 1840. I can't see it closing in between.
