This is my first post but I have read many interesting reports/questions, a great site.

My daughter booked LHR-SYD return the first day of flight availability for the 9/12/08 returning 4/1/09 in PE. She also booked via VS SYD-MEL.

At the time she was booked via telephone into seats 19 H&K for all sectors.

At the time of booking the VS website only showed 3 flights, however when my daughter checked a few months later it showed all flights, but to her disapointment the seats on the return flight had been changed to the last row of PE(in front of the toilets).

We called and was told that a passenger with difficulties needed 19H/K. I understand the reasons, however I cannot understand why my daughter who booked early, is a member of FC and has flown 3 times on CS in PE would be moved before later bookings.

I have complained but told they will put some details on file for when further seats are released, but I'm unconvinced.

Any advice greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the site, Mike

If you look back in the forum, there are lots of topics about seat moves. The bottom line is that the seat request is just that - a request.

Virgin will always endeavor to seat families together and will do their best to accommodate those with any sort of special needs. A large percentage of seats are not available for advance request, so hopefully this will be sorted - either when OLCI opens, or when your Daughter get to the airport.

Nick
thanks for the reply

I appreciate the request is just that,a request and seats cannot be guaranteed. I think it is the principle that when booking so far in advance why should my daughter be moved and not others who booked later.

We will try OLCI for her berfore the return.

I had offerred to take the seat for her but she said no! She will then have earned enough miles (me paying for the flights) for a reward flight.
