Hello all,

Been lurking for a few weeks since finding this excellent site and the forums. Did a search but couldn't find anything relevant, unless I'm not doing something right.

Me (& the Mrs) are Virgin virgins and flying out on Sat 13/09 to Kenya and just dealing with last-minute butterflies. Just wondered if anyone had come across any problems with size of main baggage.

Virgin's site info indicates that the total of W+D+H must not exceed 158cms (62ins). I've measured the dimensions and one bag is just under, the other is about 4 inches outside the stated limit. Is this likely to be an issue?

Also enjoyed the trip reports and will try and remember to jot notes and post back later.

A quuick q on online checkin - if you check in but don't print the boarding pass will they print one when you get to the desk?

Thanks

Hi and welcome to the site!

I am sure there was a thread about a similar question a while ago but I can't seem to find it at the moment. IIRC then I think the general consensus was that you should be ok. I have never personally had my bags measured and as long as you are within the weight limit I would imagine you will be fine. I think the rule is to stop any HUGE bags trying to be loaded.

With regards to the OLCI question. Yes you do get a boarding card printed off when you check in/drop your bags off at the airport. Very few people use the ones you print out and I know other members have mentioned problems with the bar code being read on them, so I wouldn't even bother printing them.

I printed my boarding card off for Monday and I was still issued a purple one at bag drop.

Neil, Darren - thanks for your responses.

Hopefully it will all be a breeze on the day and we can then enjoy the onboard experience.
