Just hope someone has bought a bargain they can use rather than an expensive dud.

I bought my soul on eBay and it's worked out OK, I guess.

This would seem to be catching on with a few others trying to make some money while advertising how much you could save.

This one here is openly saying they are account miles.....

While this one here has a number of people bidding well over £1,200 so far.

I've given VS FC a call and they're looking at it right now as a matter of urgency.

First time I've used the hyperlink, hope they work!

Added after pulling my hair out - Thanks to Honey Lamb for the hyperlink help! [y]

The second one is from a 'Travel Agent.....' who will (on payment) book the flight of your choice and then send you the E-Ticket. Now I wonder how that will work [:?]

Actually, he says he will accept payment once you have received the eticket. So basically he will book the flights in your name, send you the eticket before you have to pay him!

A clever way of doing it as you can of course use your miles to book flights in other peoples name, and if they are happy to pay you for doing it then not breaking any t&c's?

Not really

4.1.12 Members shall not sell or auction free tickets or miles in any circumstance. Selling or auctioning tickets could lead to the termination of a member's membership in accordance with clause 9.1.

9.1 Flying Club miles and/or rewards are void if sold, auctioned, bartered, purchased (by any other method than through the Virgin Atlantic Airways Buy Miles option), defaced or altered. Such activity is prohibited and may result in denial of travel and/or redemption of the reward and may also result in the cancellation of all accrued miles, rewards and programme membership

I wonder how being a Travel Agent earns him loadsa miles anyway ... could it be that if he is dodgy enough to sell them, whether he's adding his FF number during the booking process to unsuspecting PAX? Can that be done?

I have heard of cases where the travel agent acts as the 'referrer' for MMF and subsequently pocket a lot of bonus 'joining' miles.

Thanks,
Sarah

Which is of course totally against the T&Cs also

The second (100,000 FC miles) ebay sale has ended at a price of £1,302! You can find it again here. I never like it when someone keeps the bidding user ID's private, and this dodgy travel agency is no exception.

Shame VS FC couldn't stop it in time.

Hmmm... and that second one claimed 'all taxes paid', which is clearly not the case with mileage rewards.

Given that the second one was going to book the ticket for the winner, my guess is that THEY were going to foot the taxes/fees bill, Pete.

I don't see a problem with this myself. We all look for perks of the job don't we? like collecting miles when our company sends us on business.

As a post script to this story - whatever you views on the moral issues, the buyer - having bid £687.00, has now find out that it isn't possible for the seller to sell in the way described, and has left somequite stinging negative feedback. [}:)]

Oh Neil......?!?!

As for the feedback, if only they had viewed here first....[xx(]

The feedback however is incorrect.

As has been pointed out previously - it is not 'illegal' to sell miles - it is only against the rules and rules can be broken if one understands the risks one is taking.

At least there is justice in the world: Paul McCartney & Wings sold for 5 times the S-Club record [y]
