Upgrading PE(S) to UC?

Im flying back from LA on Jan 1st on a PE (S class), I have about 40,000+ miles on my FC account, do you think it would be possible to arrange an upgrade to UC using miles at this time of the year?

Very unlikely I'm afraid at that time of year. Most UK bound VS flights from the US are always chocker the first few days in Jan.

The VS web site confirms this. The first available Upper Class reward fare from LAX is for Jan 12th.

Looks like there is availability on Dec 31st. 1st couple of weeks in January looks blank. Your miles are OK, only need 20,000 and your S class ticket is fine too, so it's purely availability.
Best options are to chage date or check everyday as redemption seats do get released should purchases not take off closer to the date.

You could always ask at the airport before coming home as well.

My suggestion would be to call the Flying Club a day beforehand, or at least before getting to the airport. At LAX, the upgrade procedure and checkin is cahotic at the best of times.

Thats true actually, LAX is abit of a nightmare.....I'll give them a call the day before....

I definately would NOT wait until the airport, as in my personal experience they will just tell you that they don't have the staff on that day to help you. Maybe try a few days before as well, although with the Xmas holiday may make it more difficult!
