New GC - why the secret number?

Just got my renewal pack and the GC has a number on the front right hand bottom corner which I do not recall any previous ones having.

Anyone know what is it?

My congratulations on receiving your renewal pack. I have been waiting 2 months for mine. I called before Christmas and the suggestion was that the pack had been returned as undeliverable. [:0] I'm at the same address as I have been for the last 30+ years and there never has been a problem before. There was a promise to resend but I'm still waiting [V]

Yes this was referenced as far back as August, I don't think anyone knows the significance of the numerics and I have asked FC staff too with the same response!
