Hi,

We are flying with Virgin for the first time in June to Orlando from Gatwick. We are flying outbound in UC and Inbound PE.

I have a few questions that I am hoping someone can answer?

1. Is the Virgin Clubhouse free for all food and drink etc? Doesn't really say anywhere that I can find.

2. Is the VCH only for UC passengers or PE as well?

3. Is the Bar in UC free as well (not used to not having to pay for every extra on flights)

4. Does UC have any kind of internet connection onboard?

5. Is it quite snobby in UC, or are most people friendly?

6. Can you ask for snacks during the flight, apart from you meal, or is it best to bring your own snacks?

7. Do the V planes in Gatwick have the option to pause films etc in UC?

8. Are the WC bigger than economy or just as cramped?

9. Is there a Airport lounge at MCO that you can use when you arrive?

10. Is there a Airport lounge at MCO that PE users can use?

11. Do they supply you with a laptop power adapter in UC and PE?

OK, think that is all for now :-) sorry there are so many questions.

Thanks

Katy and Nick

OK I'll try my best...

1. Clubhouse is free for all food and drink - you can order whatever you like from the menu
2. Clubhouse is for UC passengers and Gold Card holders
3. All drinks on VS are complimentary
4. No internet connection onboard but there is Wifi in the Clubhouse
5. Not snobby at all. I always find UC on the LGW 747's like one big family - everyone is always happy to be going on holiday!
6. Yes you can ask for snacks during the flight but it is always best to bring a few extra bits in case there is nothing left
7. The LGW 744s do not have the option to pause movies. However there is always a very small chance of a VPort equipped aircraft being used on the route but this is very rare
8. The toilets are exactly the same size
9. There is no arrivals lounge at MCO
10. I believe the Delta Crown Room is only for UC passengers and Gold Card holders
11. There is laptop power in UC only on the LGW 744 aircraft

Hope I've remembered everything!

Hi and welcome to V-Flyer

To answer those of your questions that I can:

1. Yes, all food and drink is complimentary

2. The Virgin Clubhouse is only for those travelling in UC or gold card members although I believe those booked with VH can buy Clubhouse access

3. Yes, the bar is free in UC

4. No, there is no internet connection on any VS planes

5. Not snobby at all. Most folks are friendly

6. There will be a meal on board as well as afternoon tea before you land. However you might like to bring some small snacks as well

7. No, unless you are lucky enough to get a plane 'on loan' from LHR.

8. Can't remember, sorry

9. No, there is no arrivals lounge

10. As far as I know, no

11. In UC, yes but others may be able to answer the PE question.

Hope this helps

Enjoy your flight.

Thank you both for your replies, very helpful.

We are really looking forward to UC and especially the Clubhouse.

Does the clubhouse get that busy? Our flight leaves about 11ish, is the morning a busy time?

At the moment there is only 1 other UC passenger, does UC normally get fully booked?

On the way back we are on the upper deck, is this OK?

Thanks for your help.

Welcome to V-Flyer.

Tikerbelle and honey lamb have answered your questions, but if you have any more it may be worth reading the Virgin Atlantic Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's). This is linked from the left hand menu on forum pages and contains answer to a lot of the questions you asked, and a lot more besides.

If you have any other questions that aren't answered here, I am sure there will be someone here who can give you a good answer.

As there is only 14 UC seats, I have yet to see an empty seat in J on an MCO flight!

And PE on the Upper Deck is the place to be!

'"Staff travel at its best' and the problem with that is?? I'm sure for every staff member that has made an a*#e of themselves there are 50 that don't!!"

The staff on staff travel on our MCO flight were all very well behaved, it was more the sheer quantity of them; 9 in total if I recall. Was only the outbound though from LGW, our return to MAN had a grand total of 4 pax and no staff.

Must say on a recent MCO UC flight there were only 4 of us that later became 5 when a crew member twisted her ankle and came to rest it.

So empty MCO UC seats do happen!

As we are only PE on the way back, can we use the Delta lounge? Or can I pay to use it?

You don't get lounge access if flying PE. Unfortunately it is not possible to pay for access to the Delta lounge either, ISTBC but there are no pay lounges at MCO (you can access if you have priority pass membership though), but I wouldn't be too worried, the Delta lounge isn't that special, although it is a nice place to get away from the rather crowded terminal.

I think it is a Priority Pass lounge. Others will be able to tell you for sure.

It is a Priority Pass lounge.

Be sure to avail yourself of the sleep suit. They are comfortable and truly make the flight! Happy travels!

If you have a Platinum or Centurion AmEx, you can get access to the lounge with a guest without having to use Priority Pass.

Excellent question, Darren FletcherWheeler. The sleep suits -- which you may be interested to know are sometimes called 'ninja suits' HAHAHAHAHA -- are washed after use and refolded/packaged. Some travelers have reported finding the odd hair or stain in their suit, but this is to be firmly understood as an anomaly. There may be other threads here discussing that but I do not recall them.

Happy travels!
