I know i'm expecting you all to have access to a crystal ball but just wondered if any of you knew if a PE sale is likly to appear soon?

I'd like to book a return flight to LAX on 28th Aug. Have been looking out for a sale for a few weeks and nothing has come up, they seemed to have loads last year!

I have been keeping an eye on the PE sales for a while now, and I think we are certainly due for one.

It is very difficult to predict the destinations and window of availability for them. The last few have only included the next three or four months or sometimes even less.

As we get nearer to the magic 25th birthday I suspect there will be at least one major sale across all destinations and all classes, but that isn't based on any inside knowledge.

The VS facebook page has hinted a couple of times about a major sale. Don't know if they are speaking from a position of sure knowledge though.

pretty poor damn excuse for a sale to me - thought I'd have a little lookie maybe for another cheapy flight I could sneak to the UK with the kids ..... 1 adult, 2 kids BGI-LGW return, cheapest price in the sale

a not so tiny 1748 !!!!!!

and this is supposedly the 'sale price'. what a rip off!

the sale prices seem to be really for UK departures.
go to US website and you find no such page and no such comparable prices.

seems like they dont want Americans on their planes cheaply?

Prices in the UK (& Europe) now much cheaper for Americans due to the stronger $.
I guess airlines assess that will tempt more Americans to travel.
In which case there's no incentive for an airline to reduce its prices to a market that it considers motivated.
Whether that assessment is correct remains to be seen.
If it is, ticket prices from the US to UK will remain high; if it's not, they'll be reduced.
Virgin prices from the US currently are very high compared to tickets the other way.
Applies to PE & UC also.

Given that the Economy sale has ended and the UC sale is due to end on May 4, what do the experts predict will be VS next move?

Still hoping for a PE sale soon [?]

There have been targetted PE Sales to locations where there are lighter loads. Boston, NY and DC spring to mind.

Don't recall seeing the West Coast appear in the Sales section much when it comes to PE and UC.

Sometimes you can get good deals that do not form part of a promotion. Just keep looking.

Checking back at last years booking, made on 28 Mar 08, we travelled LGW to LAS (PE) and LAX to LHR (UCS) for 1341.80

I'm unsure if this was a sale fare although it seemed a pretty good deal

The same trip this year is coming in at 1721.30

Im in a limbo state wondering whether deals will arise or contemplating LHR - SFO & LAX - LHR using M+M

The recent UCS sale did not cover the dates we require

Thoughts anyone [:?]
