I enrolled my MIL last year as we were going UCS to SFO return, so I could get MMF etc. As a result she now has 24000 miles, which she will not use as she has no further plans to fly.

We have booked via miles upgrade from EC to UC to LGW/MCO and back from SFO/LHR this November. I was wondering would it be possible (providing my MIL introduces me on the phone with her ID and FC number) if she/I could use those miles to upgrade to the chauffeur service, albeit I would have to use 1000 miles from my account to make the 25000 required for the roundtrip? Can I split the extra from my account?

Many thanks.

Not unless someone bends the rules regretfully. Perhaps she could 'buy' the 1,000 miles?

Thanks, I thought it might be that - it costs 30 for the 1000. With the supplement of 45 to LGW and 75 from LHR (as miles only covers 75 miles I think and I live in Colchester, Essex), it might be cheaper to get a taxi!

Cheers.

Now, if someone could come up with a deal where I can trade in my mother-in-law for miles, then we'd be talking...

[^][^][^][^]

would there be a sliding scale of trade-in value?

Am sure VS could come up with a use for all the MILs they would suddenly aquire.

Don't say that, flying with them end of June, luckily just a swift flight from SFO to LAS, got a great deal UC to LAS via SFO, means dont have to use the old 747 out of LGW and my first UC experience [:D]

No, Just United... [:w]

Oh dont be so cruel!

It was one of the United MILs that took pity on me and gave me my one and only op-up into business class having taken pity on me after having to walk from one end of the C-D terminal at IAD and arriving very breathless at the gate.

I had only asked if they had an aisle seat free - impossible as the original plane was withdrawn due to a fleet wiring check and all reservations had been cancelled due to a changed plane and cancelled other flights.

She asked me to wait a few minutes, looked at her terminal before she printed a new BP. I asked it it was an aisle seat and she handed the pass over (face down) and whispered 'shhhhh last row of business'

I could have[:X] her (but didn't)
