Not sure exactly how/why, but I stumbled onto this page on va.com

A lot of it is the general marketing blurb that's in other sections of the site, but this particular part was interesting:

Q: Who are Virgin Atlantic's customers?

A: The percentage of UK originating passengers varies from route to route, but on average there's a 60/40 bias to the UK.

Upper Class passengers are predominately travelling on business and are male, 35 to 45 years old, ABC1 and earning £50K plus per annum.

Passengers in Premium Economy are split fairly evenly between travelling for business or leisure; most are male, average age 41, ABC1. Those travelling on business are often doing so because their company operates an economy travel policy.

Economy passengers are a much broader group, travelling mainly for leisure and evenly spread across most socio economic groups and age ranges.

I'd also never seen this published anywhere else before, either:

Q: Does Virgin Atlantic have a mission statement?

A "To grow a profitable airline, that people love to fly and where people love to work.

Yep, they're really doing a great job with that!

I'd seen this before - sure we had a thread discussing it a long time ago.

Interesting profiles of J and W travellers though! I guess I'm not quite the normal W or J passenger then :)

Thanks,
Richard

Indeed - It seems half of us need to disappear down the back and stop annoying the older "adults" in there ;)[:p]

Re preiffer's last comment - I have often thought that [^]!

Interesting breakdown though, from the flights I have made with Virgin, It seems to also depend on the route and the mix with Virgin-Holiday flyers.
Maybe I should take a quick audit on my next flight !!!:)

Remind me, Mark - are you still inside that age bracket...? ;)[:0]

(I wonder what happens for 45+'s?)
