Hi all - I have a quick question please. I understand that, when travelling in UC, I can take a guest (travelling in economy on the same flight) into the Clubhouse with me. However, is it possible to check-in together at the UC desk or will they send my guest off to the (longer) economy line?! Many thanks in advance.

I stand to be corrected here, but I am sure it has been said on the forums before that, if you are travelling on the same flight, there is no problem with a colleague / travelling companion checking in with you.

I think they would baulk at half a dozen people using the UC check in, when only one has a J ticket.

As Nick says,as a rule no you cannot do this, but in general if they are not to busy and it's only one or two people the chances are they will ccheck you in.If you show up with a bus load of your friends then forget about it.

That's interesting, I never knew that [:0]. I could have done this so many times[}:)].

The Flying Club guide clearly states that Gold members may use UC checkin regardless of ticket class, together with one guest. Not mentioned on the web page interestingly, although the guest access to the lounge is.

I've never had problems checking in colleagues who don't have a gold card.

I wouldn't want to abuse it but I've also had no problems checking in all four of us at the UC desk when flying with my family, none of whom have gold membership.

I checked Beetlebug in with me at the UC check-in in July and she was flying in a different class on a different VS flight that day. I was also able to invite her into the LGW Clubhouse as well.

As long as it's not too busy and you dont abuse it you will be fine.

For checkin a guest is fine and I've known many +3's (families etc)
I think if they are not that busy they dont mind so much

The +1 for the clubhouse seems more strict though - but again I've known a family of 4 Mom/dad 2 kids get in on a AU before, so I guess a good idea would be to not expect it - and enjoy if they bend the rules;)
