"Where's my seat? Currently unavailable"

That's the message when I go to select seats for my LHR-JFK-LHR (2 pax) next March bagged in the last reward sale for which there was a minor schedule change. Previously we'd selected seats for the inbound we upgraded to PE using an upgrade voucher think - window and aisle, for free obviously - didn't bother paying to reserve the economy outbound but was considering it... Pending aircraft change? IT glitch? Any other ideas?

I wanted to choose the PE seats ASAP just because I should be able to. Fearing I might be missing out and should be getting on the phone but seems trivial so I haven't. Just wondered if anyone's had it before.

Have you had your new e-ticket through yet following the schedule change? I've sometimes come across problems accessing the seating plan when I've not been ticketed yet. You could try giving them a call, they should be able to do it for you instead of waiting.

I had this problem at the weekend for my flight this August because my connecting flight had a time change I could not select seats for any flight phoned them up they explained it was because of the time change there system had updated person on the phone done it while I was the phone I could then select seats straight away

I've got the same problem after a schedule change and I've got my new e-tix. I had previously selected seats but now not available to view or change. Ho hum...

I believe the seat map function has been down for at least a week, early last week I had to ask PAMS to reserve my seat on my next flight. Have looked 2 or 3 times since then and the seat chooser app has not been available.

It's not been available for me either; for flights to Hong Kong in Aug/Sept. >-(

I want to change, so I guess I'll have to call

After a few weeks of triyng and getting the "seatmap unavailable", I called the contact centre and got my seats to HKG changed. Miraculously, when I went to check soon after, the seatmap was available.

I have no idea if the agent did something to unblock the system or it was amazing coincidence.

Just put in a quick call to FC to check my preferred seats were still selected and this resulted in the seat map showing once again in MMB.
