Why not ask your friends to recommend a local taxi service?

depending on where in Eaaling you are the Heathrow Connect Train might be an alternative.

Heathrow Connect sounds like an excellent choice as you can get it from Ealing Broadway or West Ealing.
However, for the convenience of arriving directly at your terminal a taxi or minicab sounds good too and it's only about 12 miles so shouldn't be too expensive.

I do it from Hanwell and always get a cab or Uber. The train seems a lot of hassle for a short journey like that. After all you are on holiday and flying UC, standards to maintain so you must turn up in a car driven by someone else. Ask them to wear a peaked cap too and to doff it when they pick you up and to open the doors for you ! :)

Have a great trip !

There's no problem with DTCI in a minicab. Just mention when you book your DTCI slot that you won't know the car registration until pickup. The rule about having to nominate a specific vehicle 24h ahead of arrival is an old one that's long gone. Just turn up and have the driver give your flight number and surname at the intercom by the bollards and you'll be let in.
