I used to buy the bonus points every chance I got but now the points are worth so little I don't bother. So that is lost revenue for VS.
Trying to use miles to upgrade now requires so many it has devalued them to the point they are not really worth factoring in. Perhaps the idea behind this is to get you to bid for your upgrade which generates more income.

Probably going against the grain here …. But I feel like dynamic points will work for me and my family. We can fly off peak and be very flexible on dates. I had thought about changing focus to BA, but the chances of getting 3 reward flights is slim. So we will be sticking with Virgin. I had changed some of my spending already to BA which I kind of regret now, as I’d have been better keeping on going with Virgin. But we live and we learn! I feel like I am one of few that this change benefits

Instead of doing the bonus points, it worked out cheaper this time to triple boost all my upcoming flights.

It’s great, don’t get me wrong, when you can snag 29k seats in UC. And looking at at May 2026 for JFk plenty LHR-JFK for 29k, and JFK-LHR are cheaper than before (a few at 47,500/57,500 or below). Which is great, as normally JFK-LHR is high points most of the time

I’m very fortunate as very flexible in dates (no kids)
But since the changes, it’s better to book one way tickets (as then whole booking is recalculated if needed to change) but now one way US-LHR taxes are hiked, so just VS trying get more money in my opinion (of course natural for any business) but screwing over people.
