I have spoken to the Flying Club team but they weren’t much help.

We are traveling Upper Class (Reward Seats) in September on VS0137 & 0148 to Toronto.

There are four of us traveling, though all on separate bookings. The bookings/flights have been linked or so I’ve been told, though we experience in the past where this isn’t visible to all staff.

The scheduled aircraft has recently changed form an A350-1000 with 44 Upper Class Seats to a Leisure Configuration A350 with just 16 Upper Class seats in both diections.

The seat map shows all 16 seats as occupied on both legs and they are no longer selling seats in these particular class/flights suggesting that they are oversold.

3 of the party have at least one leg of there flight with no allocated seat. Even though we selected seats when we originally booked back in March.

We have group onward travel booked the following morning (10th of September) so it is imperative that we all arrive in Toronto on or before the 9th of September and we would prefer not to be down graded. Similarly as we are all working on our return we would prefer to travel in Upper Class.

Our concern is that as we appear as four single travels on the system this may make one or more us ideal candidates for downgrading or denied boarding.

Does anyone one have experience of this situation?

Am I right in thinking that as single travellers on a reward ticket we would be first inline for downgrade/bumping.

Can we refuse the downgrade and asks to be rerouted? Can we insist that all four of us are treated the same/arrive together?
Would we be entitled to any compensation if we are forced to down grade?

We are in this situation on both the inbound and outbound, and we would be gutted to be put through this twice.

We are willing to travel out a day earlier and return a day later (Both of these flights have availability for four in upper), is it worth asking if we can do this now and if so who do we ask?

Sorry very complicated, but this could cause a major headache if not resolved sooner rather than on the day of travel.

Thanks for any advice, in advance.
