Firstly - Hello everyone!:).
I'm wondering if anyone has any experience of the dollar rental affiliate with Virgin?
Today, my tickets arrived for my holiday on 20th September. LA 5 nights, Las Vegas 5 nights then San Francisco 4 nights.
Included in the package is a car for out fly-drive holiday. I'm quite shocked to find that in with the bumpf virgin have claimed that we need a high level of insurance that is extra. Now they are claiming that they want an extra $20per day for this insurance ($280 for the whole holiday).
As I'm sure you understand at a late stage like this all your holiday budgeting has been done and to lose that out of your spends is a fair bit! (It could have gone on a vehicle upgrade;)).
Has anyone had similar experiences? Are they just using scare tactics to try and get people to over insure themselves. All I want is to know that if the car gets nicked/damaged by me then I won't be hit with massive bills.
I'm meant to be excited for my holiday - not worrying about extra insurance costs!
PS - I hope this is posted in the correct forum!
