I am now a self confessed points *£$% and do feel guilty over paying an extra £731 when I know I am not going to change my dates [:I].

On the upsideÉ.. I now get the limo service (London, Sydney and Hong Kong) and an extra 84000 pointsÉ (Points for flying126,660, recommend a friend 2*15000 credit card points 23000 total 179660!!):D

Patrick,

Not sure you have done the right thing, but I'm in the same kind of position and am trying to justify it to myself also!! :D

It's a bit different as I was in PE to Cape Town and back from Jo'Burg on an S going out and a K coming back. Premier Team upgraded both to D fares ( no change fee ) for a bit more than your upgrade cost but then again it was from PE to UC.

The way I look at it, I get the following benefits from changing:

1) Clubhouse at LHR ( Hope Phase II is open hmmmmm )
2) Silver renewal in one shot
3) Limo to LHR with drive through ( that's quite exciting for me, not done before )
4) Limo from Cape Town airport to friends apartment, useful as I'll be arriving 6 hours before them, so save taxi fare.
5) Limo from LHR - as I'll be flying Upper plus have access to Revivals I think I'll go to work that day ( paid by day ). Arriving at work by limo - I could get used to that!

Oh, and another 50000-odd miles on top of what I would have earned. [8D]

Thanks,

David

Trying to make myself feel betterÉ. I suppose I have now got nearly 2 upper class flights 2 silver + the cars for £731.

And I am in Abu Dhabi so I donÕt need to look at the credit card statement!!

Hey honey lamb,

Sorry to hear that. When I first spoke to Virgin they were happy to do this. I then called the following morning and spoke to someone new who wanted me to change to J class..... After a while I managed to talk him around which made my day.

Maybe the luck of the draw.....

I don't suppose it was anything to do with you changing within the Apex period of the D fare? (and therefore, a D fare might not have been available? [:#])

Come on VS. Match the BA offer 100 percent. Triple status miles too!
And Silver and Gold Executive Club members will earn even more BA Miles, as we triple Silver and Gold tier bonuses, too.
From BS.com (sorry I meant BA :), I should learn how to type!)

Kerrrrrrrching! indeed, I got triple miles on a Y last august.. It made my month!

And now this offer looks about right for my first taste of UC in March, if I can convince the boss that the project is falling apart!

One other question... Anybody know what happens if you register for the offer when you have already begun your outbound travel? I've got a mate just gone out to PVG UC, and I convinced him of the benefits of virgin since he was already an FC member, but I only got around to reading about this offer today. I've told him to check out the website and register anyway, but it would be nice to know he is indebted to me to the tune of around 50K [}:)]

Well, FC "reminded" me to register again today when I called to confirm my limo change for tomorrow. (ie: If you're not registered BEFORE you fly, that sector won't count).

Not sure what would happen in reality, but I guess they mentioned it for a reason... [:I]

Actually, section 5 of the offer T's & C's:

5. In order to be eligible for this offer you must register on this site before 31 March 2006 and before you take your Qualifying Flight.

Thanks paul, at least I've registered just in case, and I guess my mate is still in debt to me for around 20K becuase I advised him to fly virgin rather than BA :D and he might still get triple miles on the return leg.
