That's great Richard, really clear. Thanks for all your efforts in getting this clarified. Will Virgin's web team update the YOUR TIER POINTS - STRIVING FOR SILVER area of the web site so that it explains in no uncertain terms that you do not actually have 13 full months as their example implies? They could so easily spell it out like you have done by using in their example a date that falls part way through a month and stating that you only have until the end of that same month the following year!

Funny you should say that, the various pages and T&C's will be refreshed very shortly with more clarity instead of making assumptions. The joys of finally getting the various stakeholders in TP's together in one room, along with customers feedback via this site and I. :)

Thank you for raising the topic, and hopefully we should not have anymore confusion on TP's and I (and Juliet) can finally lay down the TP Tiara to rest in my VS Museum ;).

Thanks,
Richard

Err, not thought about that. Didn't think anyone else would be interested in visiting... [:w]

Like any true museum, there is more in the archives than there is on display. ;)

Thanks,
Richard

My membership was upgraded to Gold today (26 April), but the website shows that I need to earn only 24 tier points by April 30, 2007 to renew. This means the six tier points that I earned earlier in April will have counted both to qualify for Gold and toward renewal. Is it usual to double count the points earned in the qualification month, or might it have occurred only because I have another VS flight booked this month and they could not defer promoting me to Gold until 1 May?

Requalification:
...if you hit 40 TP on 12th July 2005, you have from 13th July 2005 until the end of July 2006 to earn another 30 TP. Providing that you do earn 30TP and requalify for another year, you will then move into 'fixed renewal period' which is a set 13 months, in this case from 1st August 2006 until 31st August 2007.

No that is a bug in the system the whole point of the 12+remainder period for the first requal period is to avoid the double count of any TP's that have been used for qualifying for a level of status.

They will sort it out very soon.

Thanks,
Richard
