My new kit arrived this morning. Not entirely convinced by the new design yet, but it might grow on me.

It actually looks quite a complex design to have implemented, because of all the different layers which make up the card. Look at a card "edgeways" and you'll see what I mean.

I also wonder how the shiny gloss surface to the card will survive daily wear and tear.

One thing I noticed was that the covering letter wasn't personalised - it was just "Dear Customer". I'm sure the old letters used to be personalised.

The funniest thing is that my card has the wrong membership number on it!

VS changed my membership number about a month ago, because they thought part of the reason I didn't get an old-style pack when I renewed at the end of last year was because my FC database account was somehow broken.

I guess I'll get a second kit with the new membership number on sometime in the future...

Finally got my new pack yesterday. Taken five months and two changes of number but it's finally arrived. Can't say I'd care less what it looks like but I prefer it to the previous design. Much classier.

FINALLY!

I got my new silver card today, it's very flash, love it! It took them long enough[ii].

How many of you reds and silvers have your new cards? Am I late or early[:?]. My membership was renewed 4 months ago and I only just got it so I assume that they are just sending them as soon as they can...or I was forgotten[B)].

Sean I've had two sets of gold cards issued to me since May, one with the new design and then another pack when the old one expired end of July.

However my husband who is the supp. silver account holder hasn't had a new one since last year despite me having emailed VA.

Well done for finally receiving your Silver card. I renewed almost 6 months ago and have yet to receive mine. Fingers crossed that it is on its way.

Does anyone know if they're shipping new Red ones? Or just the Gold and Silver? I know it must cost a fortune when you think about the sheer number of "Reds" that must be in the system, but my card is certainly showing signs of use and it would be nice to get a replacement.

Latest update:

I spoke to FC today and was told that the Gold and Silver have started to be sent out as of August 1st and should be completed by end of the month. I've only been waiting 3 months!

Not sure about Reds, but I presume new applications will be sent new cards and current members will trickle through.....

Yesterday we received a new Flying club Red card for my husband, even though he is my Supplementary silver account holder. The letter stated that he hadn't made enough journeys to keep his silver card.

Needless to say I called the Premier Team and they confirmed that he was still Silver and they couldn't understand why he had received it and will request a new silver card for him (he hasn't had one for over a year).

I suppose the good news is that they are actually starting to send out the new red cards.

Received my renewal silver card yesterday, which was due on June 1. In the interim, I've been using the old one with no remarks or problems at all.

Following on from this thread, today we received a new supplementary silver card for my husband. He hasn't had one for over a year.

The bad news is that it expired last month.

I can't believe that FC can get this so wrong and have contacted them to say so.
