Rang Flying club today and asked if my NBrothers flight in October would earn me the 7500 miles more friends miles for me, as I was led to believe that the T&C said it runs out in August.

They told me that I will get my bonus miles, and I should ignore the T&C as on their screen it says it ran out in May 2003! They said it was very popular and would be continuing.

Guessing that despite the flight being after the supposed date I'll get them.

Excellent news (although why bother with Ts&Cs if they don't apply [?]) - I'd better get on with recruiting another 7 eh? :D

It is an ongoing offer, they put those dates in, so they
can withdraw it if they like, but they keep on extending
it usually.

Hi Freeway

Thanks for that - makes sense now. Does the continual extension mean you can only earn from 10 referrals throughout the life of the extension as well as the original period?

Cheers

Hi

Just to endorse Wolves' and Freeway's responses.

I emailed VS after reading this because I have 4 friends flying PE on my recommendation but only in October so I hadn't bothered with MMF as I thought it only applied if they travelled before 31 Aug 2004.. This was the reply:

quote:Dear Pat,

Thank you for your email regarding the 'Miles More Friends' offer.

I am pleased to advise that this offer is on-going and we do not have an expiry date at present. Therefore you do still have time to register your friends and family and will be eligible for the offer. Please do so at http://www.milesmorefriends.com, alternatively please contact your flying club helpline on 08701 61 60 59.

You can guess what I did next

resurrecting this thread - has anybody managed to get MMF when the person has been on a codeshare?

Virgin tell me its not allowed, but when this thread popped up on an MMf search, I noticed that Matt managed to get the bonus miles for a KL flight, ie a codeshare.

Reason I'm interested is we're doing a full RTW (great escapade) ticket so I'd quite like to collect the bonus miles from signing my wife up. 15k ain't to be sniffed at! It's all in Z or equiv thus should qualify.

Never mind that... I got my lovely 7500 miles on return from ANU in PE after suggesting Mrs T was my "friend"!!

I have also insisted that the MD of our company joins up as he's off to Cape Town PE in DEC!

First set of intro miles I got (15k for a colleague:D ) I had to call virgin twice to get them to appear, although it probably only took a week.

My outbound 6121 miles were added a couple of days after arriving and the 6121 return miles were there along with the 7500 miles more friends miles with 3 days of return. the miles more friends miles only appear on completion of a round trip.

Official closing date for this offer is now stated in the T&Cs as flights to be taken by 31 Dec 2004, rather than August 31st. Not sure whether this is now a final deadline or, as we've seen before

Can anyone confirm if I will get any bonus miles if my introduced friend is flying out in UC but back in PE i.e. it's not strictly a round trip in either??
