Why not checkin on line then use either DTD or MCO for bag drop?

If you8 don't have your PDA/Laptop with you, many disney hotels will let you use their computers, or there are some Cybercafes available

On my return from MCO with BA I arrived at the airport walking past about 200 or so pax waiting to check in on various VS flights up to totally empty BA check-in desks. Within 5 minutes bags checked, tickets issued and through to the Delta lounge with new invitations. And before anyone thinks it was just the Club World desk that was quiet we were the only people at any of the 6 or 8 BA check-in desks.

I can quite beleive that, though I have seen such behaviour at MCO before at check-in and at boarding.

Im surprised by that- MCO ground staff have always to me been very on the ball and have clear priority boarding in operation. Have always found the MCO staff to be excellent considering they are a) Outsourced and b) have a huge number of pax a day to deal with.

Exactly- this is what I do every-time ex MCO. I am always amazed at the sheer number of people who are waiting in the Y line when they could have used online check in. MCO even has free wi-fi and internet points so there is no excuse!!!! [:D]

Advantage of BA using a 777, not being as well marketed for the MCO routes and only having one flight a day.

What time of season was this? Last year I flew back from MCO in September with a load of about 15% and check in for both BA and VS was dead.

Security seems to cause a problem with people not realising they can use the Northwest security channels (so far left if looking at security beyond the Hyatt escalators).

My BA flight was last week. Club cabin was full. Didn't wonder down among the great unwashed. Enough of them bashed me whilst getting on so I think the plane was pretty well loaded.

Used DTD last week on return from MCO and can say that the Priority Check-In line was working perfectly, as was priority boarding at the airport.[y]

One incident soured the DTD process. An abhorrent group of some 7 low-lifes who were on Thursday's LGW flight attempted to check-in their lugagge and get boarding cards on Wed. They had apparently been told by their travel agent that this was the correct procedure. [V] I have never felt so embarrassed while witnessing their sorry scene. On being (rightly) advised by the Agent that they could not check in the day before, their comments - which grew louder by the second - ranged from 'you're only an American, you just don't fu$%*ng understand' thro' 'just wait till we get home, I'm gonna write to that ba&*^rd BransTon and tell him what I fink of his fu£%&ng airline.'[:(!]

The young lady behind the desk coped admirably and the pillocks eventually walked off with their tails well and truly between their legs.

What a damning indictment of today's society.[:(]

An interesting set of posts on the MCO experience. I use the route at least once a month , and things are getting a lot better at MCO. There is a new station manager for VS in orlando who is doing well to change some of the area's that have been mentioned in the posts.

DTD checkin is improving with a acknowledged UC/Gold line, and the staff who man this area are being re-trained to support all customers using the facility.

The airport checkin has always been a struggle, and its not helped by the airport allocating specific desk area's to the handling agent swissport who can only occupy certain square footage for all the flights they handle. There is actual talk of returning the staff to virgin away from the handler to improve service levels....will wait too see this one come into force.

I think VS in Orlando would benefit from a larger checkin area at the airport, and also the introduction of checkin kiosks at both the DTD location and airport. Unfortunately this comes down to infrastructure and the ability to aquire this from the airports and locations served.

The staff who during the summer months deal with alot of passengers and usual delays deal well all manner of issues. I think i am right in saying outside of JFK and Newark this one of the larger operations that does need some investment, from orginally starting off as a holiday destination, and turning into both a business and lesiure destination.

.........oh and Delta Crowne Lounge....yes a small haven, but needs some work on facilities :-))

[:(!][:(!] I quite agree that this is not acceptable.

I understand why the check in Desks at MCO now have signs reminding customers that bad behavoiur will not be tolerated.

It does not make live easier for any of us

A lot of talk on other forums about DTD now weighing all cases, causing some consternation due to the amount of goodies now being brought back.

I am afraid the days of genteel air travel have gone by.
Some parts of society who have up to now had the experiance of flying based upon lowco flights to the party islands now can afford the in effect, low cost flights to more exotic places such as the USa and expect to behave the same way.

Couldn't agree more. One of the reasons we now try to go on holiday to 'less tourist friendly' places...with the exception of going to see Mickey & Friends next week [:I]
