Pleaaasse, i need some pics. Im not in there until November and i'm hoping its good.

Ive paid through Virgin Holidays to take the parents in there before going to NY. Neither of them are that seasoned travellers and i'm not sure that they understand what the clubhouse will be like. That is to say when i told them they didnt seem that excited about it [:(].

Then i'm not in it again until next June!

Make sure they have a good tour of the main departures hall first to see how crowded and uncomfortable that is and then take them to the CH. I'm sure they'll appreciate it then! :D

Living in Coventry I really appreciate having a local airport. Still nothing like the promised Rugby Airport that will never be. Maybe if we can get virgin to start flying from Cov things may improve. they may have to extend the runway a little tho[8D]

Pics! ;)

I'll take as many pics as I can on Friday afternoon and post them here. The GF just hates me taking snaps like these and forbids it, so hopefully I can wheel her off to the spa for half an hour or so while I get down to business on the sly ;-)

The job I'm doing over the weekend at http://www.svalsat.com in the frozen wastes of the Arctic means I'll have a camcorder with me too, so maybe I'll be able to render some snazzy video as well.

Even if you don't have CH access, the impressive new swishing staircase entrance is clearly visible from gate 12b, and makes all the other lounges look positively drab in comparison.

Cheers, Howard

Well done Howard, we will all look forward to seeing them, unless someone beats you to it that is ;)

I would have thought VS might have put up a few more pics on their website but it looks like V-Flyer will have to do the job instead. [y]

I even submitted four. It is amazing.

Now my only question is 'Did pixuk design the Edinburgh Fridge Festival guide?'

It had a Vages flare

Great photo's, can't wait to go there myself! Jacuzzi? Well that's unique I think, I wonder how many people will use it?

The only thing I wish they would add (unless there already is?) is free Wi-Fi to the lounge as with only two internet PC's it can be difficult to get online and do some work (well surfing the internet :D ). This is available in some lounges I've been in (e.g. the Air Canada Maple Leaf lounge at LAX).

All of the MLL's that I've been in have had free "DataValet" wifi access. VS are VERY behind in this respect.

So do we have to bring swim-shorts to the CH from now on...?! [:p]:D

I was just about to ask the same, because quite frankly, if there's a jacuzzi I'm using it.

-Yes, a Jacuzzi. You enter from the spa/shower area. The door between the two is too close to the ground and well it say 'Push' and I pulled and the door got stuck on the stone floor. There is also a sauna (hot steamy room, i can't spell, reminds me on the signs on the underground not to hit staff)

-'The Office' as they call it has four computers. There are two laptops to use near the help desk, and one one other laptop in the poolside lounge. all three laptops are wireless. Two other things. Staff took orders via PDA and when I walked around many people were online so it many be free but I travel laptopless.

- And all the staff just kept talking about the SkyBar or whatever. sounds cool

To me the pictures make it look very 1960's styling that's not a critiscm of the piccys which are great, just the design of the clubhouse

Fozzyo,

look at all those massage stations. Maybe drop them a line to offer your excellent services:D

I can't honestly see anyone wanting the jaccuzzi before a flight,(Wolves excluded of course) but in Revivals, different question.

How cool! It looks great :D

Just over 2 weeks until I can try it Question is though, what treatment should I pre-book????? I love to get my hair done just before I fly. I can never get it as smooth and shiny as they do it in a salon (even with straigteners) but I want to be bronzed too!!!

Decisions, decisions [:(]

The Jacobsen Swan chair in the pictures dates from 1958. The whole place does look like the SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen circa 1964 though! (A good thing in my opinion! :))

Thanks for the pics. I mainly fly out of LGW and although I like the simplicity of the CH there, I wish they could add a few extra features there too.
