What's wrong with a hanky?

Well said slinky! I must admit I have been sitting here thinking "Is the content of a freebee" mission critical.
Of course others may disagree.......

The eye gel is very good, better than pile cream anyway, lol

To me for the money your paying its either quality stuff or nothing at all. I dont like these "motel 6" type toothbrushes and disposable razors( I mean dont we all travel with this stuff anyway) and cheap toiletries. Quality moisturizer, little aftershaves (maybe a couple of those phials like you get at stores as giveaways:D, eye gell (to rehydrate and reduce puffiness ) , a razor that can be used again by buying a cartridge down the supermaket and one that looks decent enough on the bathroom shelf. Instead of mints, mouthwash. Things like disposable toothbrushs and combs should be in the toilets in UC - not given away as though its something special. And in a decent leather shatchel - not a sad little cotton bag that looks better in the $2 shop.

Not sure reducing puffiness is really my thing, lol.

Do BA pax get molton brown stuff, they sell it at Hoopers in Harrogate and its really nice stuff.

I would happily swap my amenity kit for a few glasses of DP instead.

I've been thinking beyond the contents (still secure in wanting lovely amenities) to kit. I feel a little twinge when I see how many UC pax leave theirs on the seat. Dunno if they take the contents (the socks are fine in flight but after that fairly silly). The last round of OB packs were huge and solid, very hard to stuff into an already full handbag or briefcase, and how many travel wallets can one human need (okay, E Bay)?

If we're no longer having the zip cases--why not an attractive leather VS branded pouch--drawstring,zip or snap--useful for lots of things: change, jewelry, makeup, chess pieces, rolling tobacco etc.?

Controversial I know, but i think this is one area at the moment where BA actually beat VS.

The Club Amenity kit is quite good, it is in the hang up washbag foramt that the original OB kit was in, and has some lovely Molton Brown products in it. The coveted Anya Hindmarch bag dished out to passengers in First is really nice too, very good quality products.

The current travel wallet OB kit has just one Virgin Vie product, and its a bit of a let down for the whole UC experience. I have at least one of every UC amenity kit going back 10 years, and the current one seems cheap to me. I quite liked the original washbag kit, but the current one seems low quality, and the contents have dwindled quickly.

I end up giving the current one away to friends to use as a travel wallet, and a few have asked me recently - 'Have you taken stuff out?'. The BMI Business kit from my flight to LAS in Feb looked like it was from the Liberace house of crap (plush blue velvet anyone?) but at least it had some nice contents. Even the current toothbrush and toothpaste looks poor.

The space:NK kits were wuite nice, and the proper thick air socks with the gripping air motif were cool. Obviously there were the mints, a nice silver bullet pen, and the nice selection of products.

I say time for a rethink and re-intro a new kit. The current one has been out in the cycle too long IMO.

Thanks,
Richard
